Cockroach control
Most cockroach problems are a standard treatment. One species is not, and identifying which you have decides the whole job.
Common cockroaches, and the one that is different
Several species wander in from outside, settle somewhere damp, and are handled by a normal treatment. German cockroaches do not commute. They nest inside the house and concentrate in the kitchen and bathroom, where the warmth, moisture and food are, harbouring in the gaps you never open: behind and under appliances, inside cabinet voids, in the hollow spaces around plumbing. They also multiply very quickly, so the population you can see is always smaller than the one you cannot, and the gap widens fast.
What a German cockroach treatment involves
Pesticide applied to eliminate harbourage areas rather than open floor, growth inhibitors that make the cockroaches sterile so the population cannot rebuild itself, and baits placed at specific identified locations for complete coverage. The growth inhibitor is the part that matters: killing adults reduces what you see today, sterilising the population stops it replacing them. Do the first without the second and you are back where you started in a month.

Why there is no price on this page
German cockroach jobs are bid case by case, after a free inspection. That is not a way of dodging the question. Severity, how far the population has spread, how much of the kitchen has to be opened up and how many follow-ups it takes genuinely differ house to house, and a flat rate quoted before anyone has looked is a guess in either direction. The inspection itself costs nothing.
Placement beats volume
Bait works because a cockroach finds it during normal movement, eats, and returns to harbourage. Bait placed where they are not travelling does nothing at all, however much of it there is. That is why the inspection is the part that decides whether the treatment functions.
Moisture is the other half
German cockroaches need water more urgently than food and will persist in a spotless kitchen that has a slow leak in it. A dripping trap, condensation behind the fridge or a slow toilet leak changes what the treatment is up against.
Do not spray a repellent first · it scatters them deeper into voids
